The United States and Jordan face off on Wednesday in a FIBA World Cup basketball game in the Philippines. This is the last game for both teams in Group C.
United States Betting Preview
The United States has already locked up their spot in the next round of the FIBA World Cup, but with the expectations surrounding this team, they don’t want to allow Jordan to stick around long in this game. So far in the tournament USA has knocked off New Zealand 99-72 and in the last game they were also able to win 109-81. At the end of the first quarter against Greece they were only up four, but they started to pull away in the second quarter and never looked back. In the last game there were four different players that scored in double figures and 12 players that finished with at least four points. Jalen Brunson was the top player finishing with 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Jordan Betting Preview
On the other side of this matchup is Jordan and they have lost each of the first two games. In the first game against Greece the offense only managed 71 points and they lost by 21 points. In the last game against New Zealand, they were able to force overtime, but they ended up losing by eight points. Jordan seemed to run out of gas, and now this game is just for pride as they have been eliminated from advancing. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been a one man wrecking crew during the tournament, and in the last game he finished with 39 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Freddy Ibrahim also had a strong game finishing with 22 points, nine assists, and five rebounds.
Shane’s Free Pick
This is too many points for the United States to be laying. The United States knows they have advanced so they might take their foot off the gas a bit in this game. Hollis-Jefferson also hasn’t been able to be slowed down so far in the tournament, and he’s going to have another big game again in this one. Jordan will still lose by right around 25 points, but that is enough to cover the spread. Back Jordan against the spread.
Shane’s Pick Jordan +42.5
