Egypt and Mexico face off on Tuesday morning in a FIBA World Cup basketball showdown in Manila Philippines.
Egypt Betting Preview
Egypt has really struggled to start the World Cup and now they are just playing for pride. Egypt opened up their World Cup with a 93-67 defeat at the hands of Lithuania. In the last game against Montenegro, the defense again really struggled and that led to the 89-74 defeat. Egypt only shot 41.5 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from behind the three point line. Egypt was led by Ehab Saleh and he finished with 26 points, three rebounds, and two assists. They had three different players that finished with at least 13 points. The bench of this team just hasn’t been good enough during the tournament.
Mexico Betting Preview
On the other side of this matchup is Mexico who haven’t picked up a win yet so far in the FIBA World Cup. In the first game against Montenegro, Mexico was defeated 91-71. In the last game against Lithuania, it didn’t get any better and they were defeated 96-66. At the end of the first quarter they were down 32-17 and they couldn’t ever bounce back. Mexico only shot 35.6 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from behind the three point line. Gabriel Giron Jr was the top player for Mexico finishing 13 points, three assists, two rebounds. In this game if Mexico wants any chance they are going to need the defense to be good. If the defense struggles, Mexico is going to have some major issues keeping this game close and they will finish the tournament 0-3.
Shane’s Free Pick
There is no doubt that both defenses have struggled, but in this game it’s going to be about the lack of offenses for both teams. Especially the Mexico offense I don’t trust, and they are going to really struggle to get anything going here. This is a game where both teams are going to struggle to get to 70 points, and that will be the difference here as it stays low scoring. Back the under to cash here.
