Canada and Latvia face off on Tuesday morning in a FIBA World Cup basketball showdown in Jakarta Indonesia. Both of these teams come into this game with a perfect 2-0 record.
Canada Betting Preview
Canada has looked impressive during the FIBA World Cup so far and all of a sudden they look like a team that could be competitive against the United States. In the first game against France, Canada was able to secure a 95-65 victory. In the last game against Lebanon, the offense scored 128 points and the defense gave up only 73 points. Canada shot 71.4 percent from the field and 60 percent from behind the three point line. Canada had only two players that didn’t finish in double figures. RJ Barrett had a strong game finishing with 17 points, three assists, and one rebound. Kelly Olynyk also had quite the game finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
Latvia Betting Preview
Not many expected Latvia to be 2-0 so far in the FIBA World Cup but they have won both of hte first two games. Latvia opened up the World Cup against Lebanon and they were able to secure the 109-70 victory. In the last game against France, Latvia was able to secure the 88-86 victory. They outscored Frace 26-12 in the 4th quarter and that led to the win. Latvia had four different players that finished with at least 14 points. Latvia was led by Arturs Zagars who finished with 22 points, five assist, and two rebounds. The defense still wasn’t great against France and in this game they are going to need the defense to be a lot better.
Shane’s Free Pick
This game is going to be high scoring. Canada is an elite offensive team and they should have no issue running up the score again in this game. I don’t expect their defense to be good though, and Latvia is also going to score plenty here. This is a game where Canada is going to go over 120 points, and that will be the difference as this game goes over the total. Back the over to cash.
