The New York Knicks and the Miami Heat duke it out in Game 6 at the Kaseya Center on Friday night.
The New York Knicks have been struggling for a majority of this series, but they are now just one win away from squaring things up after taking down the Heat in a 112-103 win in Game 5 on Wednesday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 38 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, RJ Barrett added 26 points while Julius Randle chipped in with 24 points and five assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 49 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense early and looked to be in serious trouble after scoring just 14 points in the first quarter, but they came to life and exploded for 70 points in the second and third quarters combined to blow the Heat away and keep their season alive. The Knicks only had three players finish in double figures in scoring and their bench combined for just eight points.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat will be kicking themselves after missing out on a key chance to put the Knicks away in five games on Wednesday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 19 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and four steals, Bam Adebayo added 18 points while Duncan Robinson drained five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the Heat shot just 42 percent from the field and 13 of 43 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and jumped out to an early 10-point lead, only to get blown away and trailed by as many as 19 points in the third quarter. Gabe Vincent had a rough night as he scored just six points on three of 10 shooting while Kevin Love scored just four points on two of 10 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 38-18-1 ATS in their last 57 road games, 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 games following a win and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Heat are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games, 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Miami, the Knicks are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Knicks are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Miami.
The Knicks will again be missing Immanuel Quickley, while the Heat are still missing Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo. The Knicks were good enough to take down the Heat on Wednesday to keep their season alive, but now the series shifts back to the Kaseya Center where the Heat are currently 4-0 in these playoffs. The Knicks would’ve gained plenty of confidence from their win in Game 5, but I think it will be short-lived as the Heat have clearly been the better team in this series and I think they finally seal the deal in front of their home fans in this spot.
