The Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks collide in a crucial Game 6 at the State Farm Arena on Thursday night.
The Boston Celtics are still in full control of this series with a 3-2 lead, but they will be hoping to bounce back after coming up painfully short to the Hawks in a 119-117 loss in Game 5 on Tuesday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 35 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Jayson Tatum added 19 points with eight rebounds and eight assists, while Derrick White chipped in with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 53 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 39 points in the second quarter to build a 13-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, before they went cold and scored just eight points in the final 6:09 to allow the Hawks to snatch the win from them in the final seconds.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks could’ve easily given up after losing Game 4, but they kept fighting and are now just one win away from forcing a Game 7 in this series. Trae Young led the team with 38 points and 13 assists on Tuesday, John Collins added 22 points while Bogdan Bogdanovic chipped in with 18 points and five assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 46 percent from the field and 19 of 41 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game and looked to be dead in the water when they trailed by 13 points in the fourth quarter, before they closed the final 5:52 on a 23-8 run, capped by the game-winning 3-pointer from Young with just 2.1 seconds left on the clock.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record, 6-2 ATS in their last eight Conference Quarterfinals games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Hawks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

The Celtics will be kicking themselves for not closing out the Hawks in Game 5 on Tuesday, but they won’t have time to dwell on their miscues with the series now shifting to Atlanta. The Hawks showed plenty of fight to keep their season alive on Tuesday, but they are only 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and the Celtis are still 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall. I would be tempted to take the Hawks if the line was just a tad higher, but as it stands, I think the Celtics bounce back and finish the job with a win and cover here.
