The Atlanta Hawks will be hoping to stave off elimination in Game 5 against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks haven’t been able to match the Celtics in this series so far and they are now just one loss from going home early after coming up short in a 129-121 loss in Game 4 on Sunday. Trae Young led the team with 35 points and 15 assists, De’Andre Hunter added 27 points on 11 of 17 shooting while Dejounte Murray chipped in with 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 43 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line, but they allowed the Celtics off to a quick start and were always fighting an uphill battle after falling behind by 14 points early. The Hawks made a bit of a run with 34 points in the third quarter to cut into the deficit, only to allow 37 points in the fourth quarter to come up short.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are now just one win away from advancing to the second round after taking care of business in Game 4 on Sunday. Jayson Tatum led the way with 31 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Jaylen Brown added 31 points, Marcus Smart scored 19 points while Derrick White chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Celtics shot 51 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 65 points in the first half to jump out to an early double-digit lead, before they poured in 37 points in the fourth quarter to pull away and escape with the important victory.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Celtics are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games, 6-1 ATS in their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Boston, the Hawks are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Boston and the Hawks are 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
The Hawks put up a valiant effort to win in Game 3, but they are now just one loss from getting eliminated after coming up short in Game 4. The Celtics start as heavy favorites in this one and with good reason as they are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and they’ve already won by double-digits in the first two games of the series. With that being said, the line is quite hefty, but I think the Celtics cane finish the job with a win and cover at home in this spot.
