The Cleveland Cavaliers will be hoping to square up the series against the New York Knicks in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be hoping to bounce back and square up the series after getting routed by the Knicks in a 99-79 road loss on Friday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Caris LeVert added 17 points while Evan Mobley chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 38 percent from the field and seven of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and just never had a chance after scoring just 15 points in the second quarter. Darius Garland had a night to forget as he scored just 10 points on four of 21 shooting while no bench player scored more than seven points.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks will have their eyes set on taking a 3-1 series lead after dominating the Cavaliers in Game 3 on Friday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 21 points and six assists on 10 of 18 shooting, RJ Barrett added 19 points with eight rebounds and three assists while Josh Hart chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Knicks shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 33 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with their defense and always looked in control after holding the Cavaliers to just 32 points in the first half. The only blemish from the win was Julius Randle who shot just three of 15 for his 11 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in their last six Conference Quarterfinals games, 8-3-2 ATS in their last 13 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Knicks are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 home games, 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Cavaliers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in New York.
The Cavaliers will be so disappointed with how Game 3 went as they just didn’t give them a chance after getting off to such a slow start. The Knicks now hold all the momentum with home-court advantage in the series, but I’m sure the Cavaliers come out swinging in this one with what is at stake here, especially Garland who had a poor shooting night on Friday. I’m expecting a closer contest in this one with the Cavaliers squaring up the series going back to Cleveland.
