The Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Chase Center in a pivotal Game 3 on Thursday night.
The Sacramento Kings will be brimming with confidence coming into this one after taking down the Warriors in a 114-106 win in Game 2 on Monday. Domantas Sabonis led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists, De’Aaron Fox added 24 points with nine assists and four steals while Malik Monk chipped in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the Kings shot 45 percent from the field and nine of 38 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 41 points in the second quarter to erase and early deficit, before holding off a late charge from the Warriors to go up 2-0 in the series. Defense was the key to victory again as they grabbed a total of 12 offensive boards while their constant pressure forced the Warriors into 20 turnovers.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors will be going back to the drawing board after getting beaten by the Kings for the second straight time. Stephen Curry led the team with 28 points and six assists on nine of 21 shooting, Andrew Wiggins added 22 points on nine of 19 shooting while Klay Thompson drained five 3-pointers to finish with 21 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they started the game locked in and held the Kings to just 17 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but they were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing the Kings to break loose in the second quarter. Jordan Poole had a night to forget as he scored just four points on one of seven shooting off the bench while Draymond Green got ejected which resulted in him getting suspended for this pivotal Game 3.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games. The Warriors are 39-16-1 ATS in their last 56 home games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four Conference Quarterfinals games.
Head to head, the under is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Kings are 20-8 ATS in the last 28 meetings overall and the Kings are 11-2 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Golden State.
The Kings are coming into this one with the same lineup, while the Warriors have ruled out Draymond Green and they have Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins both listed as questionable. The Kings have all the momentum in this series and the cards are now stacked against the Warriors who aren’t quite as dangerous without Green in the lineup. The Kings are also 11-2 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Golden State and 20-8 ATS in the last 28 meetings overall, but the Warriors' season is all but over if they don't get the win here, so I'm backing Curry to carry the Warriors over the line in this one.
