The Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks duke it out in Game 2 at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night.
The Miami Heat will have their eyes on going up 2-0 in the series after taking down the Bucks in a 130-117 upset road win on Sunday. Jimmy Butler led the way with 35 points and 11 assists on 15 of 27 shooting, Bam Adebayo added 22 points with nine rebounds and seven assists while Kevin Love chimed in with 18 points in just 23 minutes off the bench. As a team, the Heat shot a healthy 59 percent from the field and 15 of 25 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Bucks from the start and just never took their foot of the gas until late in the fourth quarter. The win did come at a cost though as the Heat lost Tyler Herro to a hand injury and he will miss at least four weeks.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks will be eager to bounce back and square up the series after getting dominated in Game 1 on Sunday. Khris Middleton led the team with 33 points, nine rebounds and four assists on 12 of 20 shooting, Bobby Portis added 21 points off the bench while Jrue Holiday tallied 16 points with seven rebounds and 16 assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 49 percent from the field and 11 of 45 from the 3-point line as they got off to a poor start and were always fighting an uphill battle after losing Giannis Antetokounmpo to an injury in the first half. The Bucks fell behind by 13 points going into halftime and the only players that could get it going from that point were Middleton and Portis.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a win of more than 10 points and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. The Bucks are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings in Milwaukee and the Heat are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Bucks are doubtful that Giannis Antetokounmpo will return here, while the Heat are keeping an eye on Kyle Lowry who is questionable for this one. The Bucks have already shown this season that they can cover for the loss of Giannis with players like Holiday, Portis and Middleton picking up the slack, but they’re going to have to get off to a better start. The Heat had it al their way in the series opener, but they’ve lost Herro, so they’d really love it if Lowry could make his return. The line makes it tempting to take the Heat with the points, but there is just too much at stake for the Bucks in this one. I think Middleton and Holiday step up big for the Bucks to get the win and cover in this spot.
