The Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets collide at the Barclays Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Hawks in a 136-131 overtime road win on Friday. Jalen McDaniels led the team with 24 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, Georges Niang added 24 points while Danuel House Jr. provided 22 points on six of 11 shooting off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 22 from the 3-point line as they rallied all the way back from a 15-point deficit to force overtime where they poured in 17 points to win easily in the end.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won five of their last six games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Magic in a 101-84 win on Friday. Mikal Bridges led the team wit 22 points, Cam Johnson added 18 points while Nic Claxton chipped in with 14 points and 15 rebounds on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Nets shot 39 percent from the field and nine of 42 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Magic from the start were always in control after dominating the second quarter by 31-16.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 7-3 ATS in their last 20 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win. The Nets are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 Sunday games and 7-17 ATS in their last 24 home games against a team with a winning road record.
The 76ers are shorthanded for this one as Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris are all out, while Georges Niang is questionable. The Nets could also be shorthanded as Nic Claxton, Joe Harris and Spencer Dinwiddie are all questionable. The 76ers obviously don’t care about the result of this last game of the season which is why they’re resting all their key players, so I’ll lean towards the Nets to take advantage and win this one at home.
