The Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers collide at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night.
The Miami Heat have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight win after taking down the Pistons in a 118-105 road win on Tuesday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 27 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Gabe Vincent added 22 points while Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro scored 18 points apiece. As a team, the Heat shot 51 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 31 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but they couldn’t put the pesky Pistons away until the end where they exploded for 38 points to pull away and earn the much-needed victory.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Celtics in a thrilling 103-101 home win on Tuesday. Joel Embiid led the team with 52 points, 13 rebounds and six assists on 20 of 25 shooting, James Harden added 20 points with 10 assists while PJ Tucker chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line as they trailed in the fourth quarter despite a massive night from Embiid, but they made up for it with a pivotal 14-4 run to escape with the narrow win in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 1-8 ATS in their last nine games following a win of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The 76ers are 24-11 ATS in their last 35 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall.
The Heat are keeping eyes on Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo who are both questionable, while the 76ers have listed PJ Tucker, De’Anthony Melton and Tyrese Maxey all as questionable. The Heat are coming into this one fresh off an easy win over the Pistons, but they are only 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The 76ers could be missing a couple players, but they are a solid 24-11 ATS in their last 35 home games and I think they can build on their win over the Celtics with another win in this spot.
