The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic duke it out once again at the Amway Center on Thursday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in great form as they’ve won eight of their last 11 games overall, and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Magic in a 117-113 road win on Tuesday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 43 points on 15 of 23 shooting, Caris LeVert added 19 points off the bench while Darius Garland chipped in with 16 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 31 from the 3-point line as they shook off a slow start and poured in 70 points in the second and third quarters combined to erase an early deficit, before they closed the final 3:31 on a 9-4 run to escape with the narrow win in the end.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after falling just short to the Cavaliers on Tuesday. Markelle Fultz led the team with 23 points and eight assists on 11 of 17 shooting, Paolo Banchero added 20 points with 10 rebounds and four assists while Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr each scored 17 points. As a team, the Magic shot 50 percent from the field and 10 of 23 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Cavaliers in a close contest, only to go cold when it mattered most, scoring just four points in the final 3:53 to allow the Cavaliers to run them down in a close finish.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record. The Magic are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six home games, 21-7-1 ATS in their last 29 games against a team with a winning record and 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 13-4 in the last 17 meetings overall, the Cavaliers are 0-3-1 ATS in the last four meetings in Orlando and the Cavaliers are 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
The Cavaliers will again be without Isaac Okoro, Caris Levert, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, while the Magic don’t have anyone listed on the injury report except for Jonathan Isaac. The Cavaliers come into this one as the team in better form, but they’re going to be severely depleted in this one which opens the door for the Magic to take advantage. The Cavaliers are only 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the Magic get the win and cover at home.
