The Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics collide at the TD Garden on Wednesday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in great form as they’ve won five of their last six games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after thrashing the Hornets in a 120-100 road win last night. Pascal Siakam led the team with 22 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, Will Barton added 20 points off the bench while OG Anunoby chipped in with 17 points and five assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 33 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest with a 36-point explosion in the second quarter, before they made another run in the third quarter to push the lead out to 24 points at one stage.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been in pretty good shape also as they’ve won five of their last seven games, but they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short to the 76ers in a 103-101 road loss last night. Derrick White led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Jayson Tatum added 19 points with six assists while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot just 41 percent from the field and 15 of 45 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the 76ers in a close contest until late in the fourth quarter where the 76ers went on a decisive 8-0 run to pull away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games playing on zero days rest and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Celtics are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games playing on zero days rest and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Raptors are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Raptors will again be missing Gary Trent Jr, while the Celtics are keeping eyes on Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams for this one. You can make an argument for either side here as both teams have been playing well, but I’m expecting a close one, so I will be taking any points I can get in this one. The Raptors have caught fire at the right time and I think they can cause the minor upset here.
