The Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons duke it out at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last six games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after falling just short to the Timberwolves in a 107-102 loss last night. Spencer Dinwiddie led the team with 30 points and six assists on 13 of 24 shooting, Mikal Bridges added 24 points while Dorian Finney-Smith chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Nets shot 43 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they went on a run in the second quarter to lead for most of the contest, before the Timberwolves closed the final 1:00 on a 7-2 run to steal the game from them in a tight finish.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 21 of their last 22 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a 10-game slide after getting routed by the Heat in a 118-105 loss last night. Jaden Ivey led the team with 30 points and seven assists on 11 of 15 shooting, Jalen Duren added 20 points with 14 rebounds on seven of eight shooting while Isaiah Livers chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 49 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the 3-point line as they really took it to the Heat and stayed right in the contest until the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 38-26 to lose by double-digits in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Pistons are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall, the Nets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Detroit and the Nets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Nets were playing some good basketball before they ran into the Timberwolves last night, but they need to bounce back in this one to hold onto the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons are the coldest team in the league at the moment, they are riddled with injuries and are fully in tank-mode. The line is quite hefty, but the Nets are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and I think they take care of business in this one.
