The Portland Trail Blazers and the Memphis Grizzlies do battle at the FedExForum on Tuesday night.
The Portland Trail Blazers have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 11 of their last 13 games overall, but they will be feeling much better after putting a halt to a five-game slide after getting beaten by the Timberwolves in a 107-105 road win on Sunday. Shaedon Sharpe led the team with 27 points, six rebounds and six assists, Kevin Knox added 19 points off the bench while Trendon Watford chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they did their best to stay within striking distance for three tight quarters, before they held the Timberwolves to just 19 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the gritty win to snap their losing streak.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting run over by the Bulls in a 128-107 road loss on Sunday. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the team with 31 points on 11 of 20 shooting, Desmond Bane added 21 points while Ja Morant racked up a triple-double of 17 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 46 percent from the field and 19 of 43 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to build a 23-point lead, but they took their minds off the task and got burned in the second half by 75-39 to suffer one of their worst losses of the season.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games, 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Grizzlies are 44-21-2 ATS in their last 67 hope games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Trail Blazers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Memphis and the Trail Blazers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Trail Blazers are again missing a long list of players including Damian Lillard, Cam Reddish, Anfernee Simons and Jusuf Nurkic while Trendon Watford and Matisse Thybulle are both questionable. The Grizzlies are still without Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams, while Dillon Brooks is listed as questionable. The Trail Blazers were impressive in the way they took down the Timberwolves in their last outing, but they are even more depleted in this one, so I’m sticking with the Grizzlies to bounce back in fine fashion in this spot.
