The Toronto Raptors and the Charlotte Hornets duke it out once again at the Spectrum Center on Tuesday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after routing the Hornets in a 128-108 road win on Sunday. Pascal Siakam led the way with 36 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, OG Anunoby added 23 points on nine of 13 shooting while Fred VanVleet tallied 20 points with a career-high 20 assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 53 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 35 points in the first quarter to storm out to an early double-digit lead and they just never took their foot off the gas.
Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall, but they will be out for revenge after getting beaten by the Raptors on Sunday. Svi Mykhailiuk led the way with 26 points and five assists on 10 of 17 shooting, James Bouknight added 21 points off the bench while Mark Williams chipped in with 15 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Hornets shot 49 percent from the field and 15 of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the Raptors from the start and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing 67 points in the first half.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Hornets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home.
Head to head, the over is 14-5-1 in the last 20 meetings overall, the Raptors are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Charlotte and the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Raptors could be shorthanded again as OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr are both questionable, while the Hornets are again missing LaMelo Ball. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row in their own building, but the Raptors have been playing well, they have all their key players healthy and they shouldn’t have too much trouble getting a similar result in this spot.
