The Denver Nuggets and the Houston Rockets duke it out at the Toyota Center on Tuesday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in pretty good form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be feeling better after snapping a two-game skid with a 112-110 win over the Warriors on Sunday. Michael Porter Jr. led the team with 29 points and 11 rebounds, Jamal Murray added 26 points with eight assists while Bruce Brown chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to claw their way back from an early 15-point deficit, before they opened the fourth quarter with a pivotal 18-9 run to escape with the narrow win.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost eight of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting destroyed by the Lakers in a 134-109 loss on Sunday. Jalen Green led the way with 24 points and seven assists, Kevin Porter Jr. added 20 points while Alperen Sengun tallied 18 points with 15 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 43 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start, falling behind by double-digits in the first quarter and never truly threatening the superior lineup of the Lakers.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Rockets are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four home games, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Nuggets are keeping eyes on Nikola Jokic and Zeke Nnaji who are both questionable, while the Rockets have ruled out Jae’Sean Tate once again. The Nuggets haven’t been the best road team, but they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their comeback win over the Warriors and I think they will make light work of the Rockets as long as they don’t look past them. The Nuggets are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings overall and I’m backing that trend to continue here.
