The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the Miami Heat at the Miami-Dade Arena on Saturday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost five of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting beaten by the 76ers in a 116-108 road loss on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, Kyrie Irving added 23 points with six rebounds and five assists while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 21 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 45 percent from the field and 18 of 46 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to jump out to a 12-point lead, but it didn’t last long as the rest of the game belonged to the 76ers who methodically cut down the lead to win comfortably in the end as the Mavericks scored just 17 points in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after falling short to the Knicks in a 101-92 road loss on Wednesday. Gabe Vincent led the team with 21 points on eight of 11 shooting, Tyler Herro added 16 points while Jimmy Butler chipped in with 12 points and six assists. As a team, the Heat shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 39 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Knicks in a close contest, until they went cold and managed just 16 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Knicks to pull away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 2-10-2 ATS in their last 14 games playing on two days rest and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Heat are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games playing on two days’ rest, 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games and 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games overall.
Head to head, the Mavericks are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Mavericks are 16-7-2 ATS in the last 25 meetings in Miami.
The Mavericks could be shorthanded again as Frank Ntilikina is listed as questionable, while the Heat are keeping eyes on Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo who are both listed as questionable. The Mavericks have really been struggling lately and their confidence took another hit after falling short to the 76ers in their last outing, while the Heat are in need of a win after dropping their last three games and four of their last six overall. The Mavericks hold the edge in terms of betting trends as they are 16-7-2 ATS in the last 25 meetings in Miami, but the Heat certainly have more to play for at this stage of the season and I think they take care of business at home in this spot.
