The Utah Jazz invade the TD Garden to do battle with the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in decent form as they’ve split their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to build something after snapping a four-game slide with a 128-117 road win over the Spurs on Wednesday. Talen Horton-Tucker led the way with 41 points and five assists, Kendrick Nunn added 17 points and five assists off the bench while Ochai Agbaji chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 54 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter to take the early lead thanks to the hot hand of Horton-Tucker and they stayed in front right till the end where they poured in another 35 points to make it a blowout.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 11 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the Bucks in a 140-99 road win last night. Jayson Tatum led the team with 40 points, eight rebounds and one assists on 12 of 18 shooting, Jaylen Brown added 30 points with five rebounds and five assists while Al Horford chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Celtics shot 56 percent from the field and a sizzling 22 of 43 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 75 points in the first half to take a 28-point lead into halftime, before they poured in another 39 points in the third quarter to make it one of their best wins of the season.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games, 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Celtics are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games playing on zero days rest.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Jazz are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Boston.
The Jazz are still missing some players as Collin Sexton, Rudy Gay, Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen are all out, while the Celtics are coming in with the same lineup from last night. The Jazz will be relieved after they snapping their four-game losing streak with a win over the Spurs, but I think they come back down to Earth hard in this one as the Celtics stay hot with another win and cover in this one.
