The Charlotte Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Tuesday in NBA action at the Paycom Center. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.
The Charlotte Hornets are averaging 111.1 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 117.1 points on 47.6 percent shooting. Terry Rozier is averaging 21.1 points and 4.1 rebounds, while Kelly Oubre Jr. is averaging 20.3 points and 5.2 rebounds. PJ Washington is the third double-digit scorer and Gordon Hayward is grabbing 4.3 rebounds. The Charlotte Hornets are shooting 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 74.8 percent from the free throw line. The Charlotte Hornets are allowing 35.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.7 rebounds per game.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are averaging 117.4 points on 46.6 percent shooting and allowing 116.2 points on 47.2 percent shooting. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 31.3 points and 5.4 assists, while Josh Giddey is averaging 16.3 points and 6.1 assists. The Oklahoma City Thunder are shooting 35.9 percent from beyond the arc and 80.9 percent from the free throw line. The Oklahoma City Thunder are allowing 36 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.7 rebounds per game.
The Hornets are 3-10-2 ATS in their last 15 Tuesday games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up win. The Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The under is 21-6 in Hornets last 27 overall. The over is 7-2-1 in Thunder last 10 overall. The Hornets are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Oklahoma City and 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.
The Oklahoma City Thunder should obviously be big favorites as they're fighting for playoff position and at home, while the Hornets are in full on tank mode and without key players. I get it. However, the Hornets are coming off back to back wins over the Mavs which is kind of impressive and OKC is losing its last 5 games by an average of 3.2 points. Big line, and OKC hasn't earned this sort of respect. It's Hornets or pass for me.
