The Toronto Raptors play host to the Miami Heat at the Miami-Dade Arena on Tuesday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Wizards in a 114-104 home win on Sunday. OG Anunoby led the team with 29 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, Fred VanVleet added 28 points with seven assists while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Raptors shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early 21-point lead, before they held the Wizards to just 20 points in the fourth quarter to earn the solid victory.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting routed by the Nets in a 129-100 loss on Saturday. Tyler Herro led the team with 23 points on nine of 16 shooting, Max Strus drained five 3-pointers to finish with 23 points off the bench, Jimmy Butler added 18 points with five assists while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start with 36 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, only to get dominated in the second half where they managed just 31 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 games against a team with a losing record and 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games overall. The Raptors are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine home games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Heat are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Raptors are shorthanded again as Will Barton is doubtful and Gary Trent Jr is questionable, while the Heat are keeping an eye on Kyle Lowry who is day to day. The Raptors are starting to play some consistent basketball and they’ve been tough to beat at home where they are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine. The Raptors are also 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall, so I’ll stick with the Raptors to get the job done at home.
