The Indiana Pacers pay a visit to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden on Friday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in decent shape lately as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be looking to build some momentum after sneaking past the Raptors in a 118-114 road win on Wednesday. Andrew Nembhard led the way with 25 points and 10 assists on 11 of 17 shooting, Myles Turner added 16 points on six of nine shooting while Bennedict Mathurin chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 55 percent from the field and 11 of 21 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 36 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early double-digit lead which kept them in front right till the end.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after routing the Kings in a 132-109 road win on Tuesday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 36 points, eight rebounds and four assists on 14 of 25 shooting, Jaylen Brown added 27 points on 10 of 16 shooting while Derrick White chipped in with 20 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 53 percent from the field and 18 of 44 from the 3-point line as they held the Kings to 22 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before they exploded for 72 points in the second half to make it a blowout in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on two days rest.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Pacers are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Boston and the Pacers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Pacers could be shorthanded again as Chris Duarte and Tyrese Haliburton are both questionable, while the Celtics have listed Payton Pritchard as out again. The Pacers were good enough to take down the Raptors in their last outing without their best player, so they will be looking to cause another upset, especially if Haliburton can return to the lineup. The Celtics have continued to run through teams and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their dominant win over the red-hot Kings, so I’ll stick with the Celtics at home.
