The Dallas Mavericks play host to the Golden State Warriors at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a funk as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall, but they will be eager to get on a roll after snapping a three-game skid with a 121-108 road win over the Rockets on Monday. Stephen Curry led the team with 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Klay Thompson added 29 points on 11 of 21 shooting while Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 17 points on seven of nine shooting off the bench. As a team, the Warriors shot 50 percent from the field and 17 of 48 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the pesky Rockets in a close contest, until the fourth quarter where they poured in 37 points to pull away and escape with the much-needed victory.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up just short to the Grizzlies in a 112-108 road loss on Monday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 28 points on 10 of 24 shooting, Christian Wood tallied 20 points with nine rebounds and six assists while Jaden Hardy chipped in with 20 points on seven of 13 shooting. As a team, the Mavericks shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in full control when they poured in 36 points in the third quarter to build a 16-point lead, only to score just 12 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Grizzlies to run them down in a disappointing finish.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 16-36-1 ATS in their last 53 road games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points. The Mavericks are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings in Dallas and the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Dallas.
The Warriors are shorthanded again as Andrew Wiggins, Ty Jerome and Andre Iguodala are all out, while the Mavericks are keeping eyes on Markieff Morris, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic who are all questionable here. This is a tough one to pick with the injury cloud hanging over the Mavericks’ star players, so I will lean towards the Warriors who were finally able to break their road losing streak in their last outing.
