The Washington Wizards and the Orlando Magic duke it out at the Amway Center on Tuesday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in a major slump as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Kings in a 132-118 loss on Saturday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 33 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Bradley Beal added 20 points while Corey Kispert chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and jumped out to an early 10-point lead, but it was short lived as the Kings dominated the rest of the first half to put the Wizards down by as many 23 points at one stage.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in a funk as they’ve lost six of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting stopped by the Lakers in a 111-105 road loss on Sunday. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner led the team in scoring with 21 points each, Cole Anthony provided the spark off the bench with 17 points while Markelle Fultz tallied 12 points with 10 assists. As a team, the Magic shot just 40 percent from the field and 10 of 38 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to rally all the way back from a 16-point deficit to tie the scores late in the fourth quarter, only to see the Lakers close the final 57.1 seconds on a 8-2 run to slip away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Magic are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall, the Wizards are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Wizards are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Orlando.
The Wizards are shorthanded again as Kyle Kuzma is still out, while the Magic are still without Jonathan Isaac and Jalen Suggs. The Wizards are mired in their worst slump of the season and they didn’t stand much of a chance against the Kings in their last outing, despite 33 points from Kuzma who will be missing for this one. With that being said, the Magic are coming into this one as the team in better form and they were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the Lakers in their last game, so I will be taking the Magic to get the job done in this spot.
