The Detroit Pistons play host to the Miami Heat at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday night.
The Miami Heat have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after having their two-game win streak snapped by the Bulls in a 113-99 road loss last night. Jimmy Butler led the team with 24 points on eight of 13 shooting, Bam Adebayo added 23 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Max Strus chipped in with 20 points off the bench. As a team, the Heat shot just 42 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and were always fighting a losing battle after getting outscored by 70-45 in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 13 of their last 14 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Nuggets in a 119-100 loss on Thursday. Rodney McGruder led the team with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Jalen Duren added 15 points with 13 rebounds and four assists off the bench while James Wiseman and Jaden Ivey each scored 14 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 27 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Nuggets with 36 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before they got dominated by 61-36 in the second half to get completely blown out in a disappointing finish.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 games against a team with a losing record and 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Pistons are 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Heat are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Heat are 4-9 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Detroit.
The Heat were missing Kyle Lowry in their last game, but they are expecting to have him back in the lineup which is a huge boost, while the Pistons are still missing Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and Hamidou Diallo. The Heat are playing this one on zero days rest, but they were playing some good basketball before last night and I expect them to bounce back against the Pistons who are 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record.
