The Minnesota Timberwolves pay a visit to the Toronto Raptors at the Scotiabank Arena on Saturday night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting beaten by the Bulls in a 139-131 double overtime road loss last night. Mike Conley led the team with 28 points and six assists on nine of 14 shooting, Jaden McDaniels added 25 points while Rudy Gobert tallied 21 points with 19 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 46 percent from the field and 18 of 42 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they held a 13-point lead in the third quarter, but they never put the Bulls away and eventually got burned in the second overtime period where they allowed the Bulls to pour in 16 points.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last six games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Thunder in a 128-111 home win on Thursday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 25 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, Scottie Barnes and Fred VanVleet each scored 19 points while Gary Trent Jr. chipped in with 23 points on eight of 11 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Raptors shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest with 35 points in the second quarter, before they poured in another 35 points in the fourth quarter to pull away and make it a blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Timberwolves are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Raptors are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four home games against a team with a losing road record.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Timberwolves are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Timberwolves are still missing Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaylen Nowell, while the Raptors have listed Ron Harper Jr and Christian Koloko as questionable for this one. The Timberwolves have been struggling lately and they will be low on confidence after last night’s overtime loss to the Bulls, so I’ll stick with the Raptors who have looked great in their last two wins. The Timberwolves are only 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the Raptors get their third straight win.
