The Denver Nuggets pay a visit to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Saturday afternoon.
The Denver Nuggets have been in a rut as they were on a four-game losing streak before they snapped out of it with a 119-100 road win over the Pistons on Thursday. Nikola Jokic led the way with 30 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 20 points while Jamal Murray chipped in with 19 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 52 percent from the field and eight of 24 from the 3-point line as they got off to another slow start and leaked 36 points in the second quarter to fall behind going into halftime, before they dominated the second half by 61-36 to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in great form as they’ve won 11 of their last 14 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Trail Blazers in a 123-107 road win on Tuesday. Immanuel Quickley led the team with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Julius Randle added 24 points with 10 rebounds and four assists while RJ Barrett chipped in with 22 points on eight of 13 shooting. As a team, the Knicks shot 51 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and fell behind by 16 points, before they dominated the rest of the game to make it look easy in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Knicks are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven home games, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall, the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in New York.
The Knicks could be shorthanded here as Jalen Brunson is listed as questionable, but the Knicks are coming into this one as the team in better form, so it’s no surprise that the line is so short here. The Nuggets were able to snap out of their funk with a much-needed win over the lowly Pistons on Thursday, but the Knicks are ready for this one and I think they get it done if Brunson is able to suit up here.
