The Oklahoma City Thunder invade the Scotiabank Arena on Thursday night to take on the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in great form as they’ve reeled off six wins in their past seven outings and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after routing the Nets in a 121-107 win on Tuesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 35 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Luguentz Dort added 24 points on nine of 16 shooting, Jalen Williams added 23 points while Josh Giddey tallied a triple-double of 15 points with 13 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Thunder shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled to contain the Nets in the first half and fell behind by 16 points, before they dominated the second half by 69-45 to overcome the deficit and win easily in the end.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall, but they will be feeling better after arresting a three-game skid with a 125-110 home win over the Nuggets on Tuesday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 36 points and seven assists on 13 of 22 shooting, OG Anunoby added 24 points on 10 of 14 shooting while Scottie Barnes tallied 18 points with seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 52 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with a franchise-record 49 points in the first quarter to take control early, before they held the Nuggets to just 18 points in the fourth quarter to make it a blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 46-22-3 ATS in their last 71 road games, 39-18-2 ATS in their last 59 games against a team with a losing record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Raptors are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a win of more than 10 points and 4-0 ATS in their last four home games.
Head to head, the over is 10-3-1 in the last 14 meetings overall and the Thunder are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Toronto.
The Thunder are quietly playing some of their best basketball of the season and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their comeback win over the Nets on Tuesday, while the Raptors were struggling for a while before they snapped out of it with an upset win over the Nuggets in their last outing. You can make an argument for either side here, but the Thunder have been the more consistent team and I think they can get the job done on the road here.
