The Cleveland Cavaliers pay a visit to the Miami Heat at the FTX Arena on Wednesday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to heat up again as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after sneaking past the Celtics in a thrilling 118-114 overtime win on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 40 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Evan Mobley added 25 points with 17 rebounds and three blocks while Darius Garland chipped in with 17 points and 12 assists. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the contest, before they rallied back from a 15-point deficit to force overtime where they held the Celtics to just five points to earn the impressive comeback win.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat look to have moved on from their string of six losses in seven games as they are now gunning for a third straight victory after outlasting the Hawks in a 130-128 home win on Monday. Jimmy Butler led the way with 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, Victor Oladipo provided the spark off the bench with 22 points, Caleb Martin added 21 points while Bam Adebayo tallied 16 points with seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Heat shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 29 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and leaked 43 points in the first quarter to fall behind by 15 points. However, they didn’t panic as they chipped away at the deficit before pouring in 38 points in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a home record above .600 and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS loss. The Heat are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record, 10-25-1 ATS in their last 36 home games and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Miami, the Cavaliers are 3-13 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Miami and the Cavaliers are 5-13 ATS in the last 18 meetings overall.
The Cavaliers don’t have a single player listed on the injury report, while the Heat have ruled out Kyle Lowry again and they are keeping an eye on Kevin Love who is questionable. The Cavaliers would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their comeback overtime win over the Celtics on Monday, so it’s no surprise that they’ve opened as slight road favorites in this one. The Heat are finally starting to get on a roll thanks to some big games from Butler, but they are only 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record. The betting trends favor the Heat, but the Cavaliers are the form team in this meeting and I think they get the job done on the road again.
