The New York Knicks invade the FTX Arena to take on the Miami Heat on Friday night.
The New York Knicks have been in red-hot form as they’ve won nine of their last 10 games overall and they will be gunning for an eighth straight win after blowing past the Nets in a 142-118 win on Wednesday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 39 points and six assists on 15 of 18 shooting, Quentin Grimes added 22 points while Julius Randle chipped in with 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 60 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 35 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 47 points in the first quarter and never looked in danger after jumping out to an early double-digit lead.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the 76ers in a 119-96 loss on Wednesday. Bam Adebayo led the team with 20 points on eight of 13 shooting, Jimmy Butler added 16 points on six of eight shooting while Tyler Herro chipped in with 11 points on four of 15 shooting. As a team, the Heat shot 43 percent from the field and seven of 29 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before they went cold and managed just 15 points in the second quarter to give all the momentum back to the 76ers who dominated from that point onwards.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 30-11 ATS in their last 41 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Heat are 9-23-1 ATS in their last 33 home games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
The Knicks don’t have a single player listed on the injury report, while the Heat are shorthanded again as Kyle Lowry is out and Jimmy Butler is listed as questionable due to right knee soreness. The Knicks have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league as they’re reeled off nine wins in their past 10 games and they are coming off one of their more dominant wins after beating the Nets on Wednesday. The Heat have really been struggling lately, they just got blown out by the 76ers and they could be missing their best player with Butler under an injury cloud. You can make an argument for either side here, but I’m sticking with the more consistent Knicks to stay hot with another win and cover here.
