The Toronto Raptors and the Washington Wizards collide at the Capital One Arena on Thursday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in fine form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after beating the Bulls in a 104-98 win on Tuesday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 20 points, OG Anunoby added 17 points with eight rebounds while Jakob Poeltl chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40 percent from the field and 15 of 42 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and trailed for a majority of the game, before they came to life with 34 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the unlikely victory.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Hawks in a 119-116 road win on Tuesday. Bradley Beal led the team with 37 points and seven assists on 17 of 30 shooting, Kyle Kuzma added 28 points while Daniel Gafford chipped in with 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Wizards shot 49 percent from the field and six of 21 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Hawks in a tight contest and trailed by five points late in the fourth quarter before they closed the final 4:10 on a 15-7 run to snatch the game from the Hawks in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on one days rest. The Wizards are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a win.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall, the Raptors are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Washington.
The Raptors are coming into this meeting with plenty of winning momentum and they are just about at full health with Otto Porter Jr the only player listed on the injury report. The Wizards have been improving in recent games and they sure looked good in their gritty win over the Hawks on Tuesday, but the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Washington. You can make an argument for either side, but the Raptors have been the more consistent team and I think they can get the win in this spot.
