The Washington Wizards travel to the United Center to do battle with the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
The Washington Wizards have been in decent form lately as they’ve won four of their last six games overall, but they will be eager to bounce back here after having their two-game win streak halted by the Knicks in a 115-109 loss on Friday. Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis led the team with 23 points apiece, Bradley Beal added 16 points with eight assists while Delon Wright chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 49 percent from the field and 19 of 44 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 38 points in the first quarter to take an early 19-point lead, but they never put the Knicks away and it cost them as they went scoreless in the final minutes of the game to allow the Knicks to slip away in the end.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been well below their best lately, but they will be eager to build some momentum after arresting a six-game slide with a 131-87 home win over the Nets on Friday. Zach LaVine led the team with 32 points on 12 of 17 shooting, DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams each scored 17 points while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 13 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Bulls shot 56 percent from the field and 12 of 26 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, outscoring the Nets by 63-29 in the first half, before they went on another run in the third quarter to push the lead out to 50 points at one stage.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record. The Bulls are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 home games, 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a win and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 13-5-2 in the last 20 meetings in Chicago and the under is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings overall.
The Wizards are going to be shorthanded again as Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out, while the Bulls are still missing Goran Dragic and Javonte Green. The Wizards were building some good momentum before they ran into the Knicks, while the Bulls were really struggling before they snapped out of it against the Nets. You couldn’t back either team with much confidence these days, but the Wizards have been the more consistent team lately and they are a solid 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games.
