The Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers duke it out at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in a bit of a rut as they've lost seven of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game skid after falling short to the Magic in a 100-91 loss on Monday. Zach LaVine led the team with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists, DeMar DeRozan added 19 points with six assists while Nikola Vucevic tallied 13 points with 13 rebounds. As a team, the Bulls shot just 40 percent from the field and a miserly three of 21 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and fell behind right away after scoring just 21 points in the first quarter and they never scored more than 24 points in any quarter as they struggled from distance all night. Patrick Williams had a night to forget as he scored just six points on two of 11 shooting, while Ayo Dosunmu scored just two points on one of five shooting.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in terrible form as they've lost 16 of their last 18 games overall and they will be hoping to put a halt to a five-game slide after coming up short against the Jazz in a 123-117 loss on Monday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 30 points and 12 assists on 12 of 24 shooting, Bennedict Mathurin added 21 points off the bench while Aaron Nesmith chipped in with 19 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Pacers shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they poured in 37 points in the third quarter to overcome a 12-point deficit, only to see the Jazz go on a pivotal 10-2 run in the fourth quarter to pull away and steal the game in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings overall and the Bulls are 6-13 ATS in the last 19 meetings in Indiana.
The Bulls are still missing DeMar DeRozan and Derrick Jones Jr, while Alex Caruso is listed as questionable. The Pacers have their own injuries to deal with as Daniel Theis and Myles Turner are both listed as questionable. The Bulls have been well below their best lately, they are missing some key players and they just fell to the Magic for their fourth straight loss, while the Pacers have been mired in their worst slump of the season despite getting a 30-point performance from Haliburton in their last outing. You couldn’t back either team with much confidence, but the Pacers were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the Jazz on Monday and I think they can go one step better if Haliburton can get hot again.
