The Orlando Magic and the Toronto Raptors do battle at the Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after beating the Bulls in a 100-91 road win last night. Paolo Banchero led the team with 22 points, Franz Wagner and Markelle Fultz each scored 18 points while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Magic shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Bulls in a tight contest, until the third quarter where they took control with a pivotal 14-4 run to pull away and earn yet another upset win.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Pistons in a 119-118 home win on Sunday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 35 points and eight assists on 12 of 26 shooting, Pascal Siakam added 28 points with six assists while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 20 points on five of six shooting. As a team, the Raptors shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they struggled to gain any separation from the Pistons until the third quarter where they made a run to take a 14-point lead, which proved to be just enough in the end as the Pistons rallied to finish within one point.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest and 24-10 ATS in their last 34 games overall. The Raptors are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Toronto, the Magic are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings in Toronto and the Magic are 4-11 ATS in the last 15 meetings overall.
The Magic are again missing RJ Hampton and they are keeping an eye on Cole Anthony who is listed as day to day, while the Raptors are still missing OG Anunoby and they have Gary Trent Jr and Precious Achiuwa both listed as questionable. The Raptors hold the edge in terms of betting trends as the Magic are only 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings in Toronto, but the Raptors were far from convincing in their narrow win over the lowly Pistons and I just feel the line is slightly too high. I think the Raptors get the win, but I’m going with the Magic to push them to the end and earn the backdoor cover.
