The Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns collide at the Footprint Center on Tuesday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after beating the Mavericks in a 133-128 overtime home win on Saturday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 36 points and five assists, Domantas Sabonis and Terrence Davis each scored 22 points while Kevin Huerter chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Kings shot 51 percent from the field and eight of 32 from the 3-point line as they missed on a chance to steal the game in regulation, but they made up for it in overtime to escape with the much-needed victory.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in great form as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after beating the Pacers in a 117-104 road win on Friday. DeAndre Ayton led the team with 22 points and 11 rebounds on nine of 14 shooting, Devin Booker added 21 points with five assists while Chris Paul chipped in with 19 points and nine assists. As a team, the Suns shot 46 percent from the field and 10 of 33 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and took control of the game with 60 points in the first half before they exploded for 35 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early. All five starters finished in double figures in scoring and they were able to rest their starters early after building a 26-point lead.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record, 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on two days’ rest. The Suns are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Phoenix and the Kings are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Phoenix.
The Kings are again missing Malik Monk and KZ Okpala, while the Suns are still missing Landry Shamet, Cameron Payne and Kevin Durant. The Kings come into this meeting in decent form and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their gritty overtime win over the new-look Mavericks, but the Suns are clearly the team in better form in this matchup and they were utterly dominant against the lowly Pacers in their big win on Friday. I would’ve been tempted to take the Kings if we were getting more free points, but with the line so short, I’ll stick with the more consistent Suns to get the job done at home.
