The Indiana Pacers play host to the Utah Jazz at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after coming up short to the Knicks in a 126-120 road loss on Saturday. Lauri Markkanen led the team with 29 points, five rebounds and three assists, Jordan Clarkson added 24 points while Talen Horton-Tucker chipped in with 23 points and seven assists off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 51 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to erase a 12-point deficit to tie the game late in the fourth quarter before the Knicks went on a decisive 8-0 run to slip away in the end.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 15 of their last 17 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game skid after getting routed by the Wizards in a 127-113 road loss on Saturday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists, Myles Turner added 20 points on seven of 10 shooting while Bennedict Mathurin chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Pacers shot 45 percent from the field and 14 of 40 from the 3-point line, but they didn’t come out with any intention to play defense and got burned by 80-57 in the first half which had them reeling the entire game.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Pacers are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a losing record and 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
The Jazz have been well below their best lately and their confidence would’ve taken a hit after losing to the Knicks on Saturday. The Pacers have been one of the coldest teams in the league for a while now as they’ve won just two of their last 17 games and they haven’t been good for bettors as they are only 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall. With that being said, I’ll lean towards the Jazz to come into town and escape with a win and cover here.
