The Toronto Raptors pay a visit to the Memphis Grizzlies at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be aiming for build something after sneaking past the Rockets in a 117-111 road win on Friday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 32 points, Gary Trent Jr added 29 points while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 23 points, six rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they poured in 35 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, but they had to fight till the end as the Rockets rallied with 39 points in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in a major slump as they’ve lost seven of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Cavaliers in a 128-113 road loss on Thursday. Desmond Bane led the team with 25 points, Ja Morant added 24 points with eight rebounds and eight assists while Santi Aldama chipped in with 21 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 23 from the 3-point line, but they weren’t switched on defensively and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing the Cavaliers to pour in 67 points in the first half.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600, 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Grizzlies are 36-15-1 ATS in their last 52 home games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the under is 34-11 in the last 45 meetings overall, the Raptors are 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and the Raptors are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Memphis.
The Raptors are shorthanded again as OG Anunoby and Otto Porter Jr are both out, while the Grizzlies are keeping eyes on Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr who are both listed as questionable. The Raptors haven’t been at their best and they were far from convincing in their narrow win over the lowly Rockets on Friday, but they’ve been playing better than the Grizzlies lately and they are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Memphis. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Grizzlies snapped out of their funk with a big win here, but I think I’d rather stick with the Raptors in this spot.
