The Indiana Pacers play host to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the Grizzlies in a 128-113 home win on Thursday. Darius Garland led the team with 32 points and 11 assists, Cedi Osman added 21 points off the bench while Jarrett Allen chipped in with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 53 percent from the field and 14 of 29 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 67 points in the first half and they never took their foot off the gas in a game where they led by as many as 22 points.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 11 of their last 13 games overall, but they will be looking to build some momentum in this one after snapping a four-game skid with a 107-104 win over the Kings on Friday. Buddy Hield led the team with 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Aaron Nesmith added 17 points while Myles Turner and Bennedict Mathurin each scored 14 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 44 percent from the field and 17 of 41 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to build a 19-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Kings couldn’t get back in front from that point.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 5-14-2 ATS in their last 21 road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record. The Pacers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Indiana and the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall.
The Cavaliers could be shorthanded again as Caris LeVert is currently listed as questionable with a hamstring strain, while the Pacers are keeping an eye on Daniel Theis who is questionable for this one. The Pacers will turn things around sooner rather than later, now that Tyrese Haliburton is healthy again, but the Cavaliers have been the more consistent and reliable team, so I’ll back them to get the job done here.
