The Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers duke it out at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in pretty good form as they’ve won nine of their last 14 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after beating the Nuggets in a 107-99 home win on Wednesday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 33 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, Jrue Holiday added 20 points while Pat Connaughton chipped in with 19 points and 12 rebounds on seven of eight shooting. As a team, the Bucks shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 30 from the 3-point line as they poured in 32 points in the second quarter to the lead, before they held the Nuggets to just 20 points in the third quarter to push the lead out to 14 points.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in dreadful form as they’ve lost eight of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling short to the Magic in a 126-120 road loss on Wednesday. Bennedict Mathurin led the team with 26 points off the bench, Myles Turner added 22 points with 13 rebounds, TJ McConnell tallied 17 points with eight assists on eight of eight shooting, while Buddy Hield chipped in with 21 points, five assists and four steals. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line, but they failed to match the Magic’s intensity to start the game and were always playing from behind after allowing 46 points in the first quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 6-14-2 ATS in their last 22 games following a win. The Pacers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall and the Bucks are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Bucks are a little shorthanded as Bobby Portis is out while MarJon Beauchamp is questionable, while the Pacers are still missing Tyrese Haliburton and they have Myles Turner, Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard all listed as questionable. The line is quite hefty for this one, but the Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall. The Pacers might be able to hang around in the first half, but given the form they’ve been in lately, I have to stick with the Bucks to maintain their momentum with another win and cover here.
