The Washington Wizards invade the Toyota Center to battle the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their last six games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after sneaking past the Mavericks in a 127-126 road win last night. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 30 points, Bradley Beal added 22 points while Deni Avdija chipped in with 15 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. As a team, the Wizards shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Mavericks in a close contest, until the last five seconds of the game where Kuzma drained the game-winning free throw to steal the game in the end.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets were absolutely ice-cold as they were on a 13-game losing streak before they snapped out of it with a 119-114 home win over the Timberwolves on Monday. Jalen Green led the team with a game-high 42 points on 15 of 25 shooting, Alperen Sengun added 21 points with seven rebounds and seven assists while Eric Gordon chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they traded baskets with the Timberwolves in a really close contest, until midway through the third quarter where they went on a decisive 17-7 run to pull away for good.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 40-17-2 ATS in their last 59 games playing on zero days’ rest. The Rockets are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 home games, 26-54 ATS in their last 80 games against a team with a losing record and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall.
Head to head, the Wizards are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Houston.
The Wizards will again be without Kristaps Porzingis, while the Rockets have ruled out Kevin Porter Jr again and they have listed Jabari Smith Jr listed as questionable. The wizards have started to heat up a bit lately and they will be full of confidence after taking down the Mavericks in a thrilling win last night. The Rockets came to life with a solid win over the Timberwolves on Monday, but they have been anything but consistent this season, so I’d rather go with he Wizards at the short line.
