The Denver Nuggets and the Milwaukee Bucks collide at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their last 11 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after sneaking past the Pelicans in a 99-98 road win last night. Nikola Jokic led the team with a triple-double of 25 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Jamal Murray added 25 points with seven assists while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to lead by as many as 19 points, but they couldn’t put the Pelicans away and it would’ve cost them if not for Jokic who drained the game-winning shot with just 16.2 seconds left on the clock.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their last 13 games overall and they will be feeling pretty good after blowing past the Pistons in a 150-130 road win on Monday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 29 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, Brook Lopez added 21 points while Bobby Portis and Javon Carter each scored 18 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 56 percent from the field and a sizzling 23 of 52 from the 3-point line as they caught fire right away and poured in 49 points in the first quarter to jump out to a massive lead right away which allowed them to cruise in the second half and rest their starters early.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600 and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Bucks are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Milwaukee.
The Nuggets are still missing Collin Gillespie and they have Michael Porter Jr and Bones Hyland as day to day, while the Bucks have ruled out Bobby Portis due to a right ankle sprain. The Nuggets have been the benchmark of the league for a while now and they will be feeling good after escaping New Orleans with a narrow win last night, while the Bucks will be quietly confident themselves after putting on 150 points in a win over the Pistons on Monday. The Bucks have home court advantage and they should be the fresher team as they haven’t played since Monday, so I like them to get the win here, but with the line so hefty, I think I’ll lean towards the Nuggets to hang around and get the backdoor cover.
