The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat duke it out at the FTX Arena on Tuesday night.
The Boston Celtics have been in great form as they’ve won 13 of their last 16 games overall but they will be eager to bounce back in this one after having their nine-game win streak halted by the Magic in a 113-98 road loss last night. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the team with 26 points each, Sam Hauser added 13 points while Derrick White chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Celtics shot 43 percent from the field and 18 of 46 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and had to claw their way back from an early deficit, only to go cold in the second half where they managed just 44 points to allow the Magic to win big in the end. To make matters worse, Tatum left the game clutch his side which could mean him sitting out at least the next game.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to stay hot after sneaking past the shorthanded Pelicans in a 100-96 home win on Sunday. Tyler Herro led the team with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo each scored 18 points while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Heat shot 43 percent from the field and eight of 34 from the 3-point as they got off to a poor start and trailed by as many as 16 points, but they clamped down defensively and made their move in the second half to escape with the narrow win in a close finish that could’ve gone either way.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a winning record. The Heat are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Miami, the Celtics are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Celtics are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Miami.
The Celtics have a few key players listed on the injury report as Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon and Marcus Smart are all out, while the Heat are still only missing Duncan Robinson and Nikola Jovic. The Celtics were the hottest team in the league before they lost to the Magic last night as they really struggled to find production from their point guards with Brogdon and Smart both out. The Heat were far from convincing in their narrow in over the depleted Pelicans on Sunday, but they are just about at full health and they would love to take down their rivals at home.
