The Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks duke it out at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in decent shape as they’ve won seven of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to build some momentum after taking down the Bucks in a 114-102 home win on Saturday. Evan Mobley led the team with 38 points, nine rebounds and three assists, Darius Garland added 21 points with 10 assists while Caris LeVert and Cedi Osman each scored 13 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 55 percent from the field and seven of 22 from the 3-point line as they held the Bucks to just 21 points in the second quarter to take the early lead, before they poured in 64 points in the second half to pull away and win comfortably. To be fair, the Bucks were severely shorthanded as they were missing Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in a rut as they will be hoping to avoid a fifth straight defeat after getting beaten by the Raptors in a 125-116 road win on Sunday. RJ Barrett led the team with 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Julius Randle added 23 points with 19 rebounds and eight assists while Jalen Brunson chipped I with 21 points and five assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 48 percent from the field and 18 of 41 from the 3-point line as they clawed their way back from an early 17-point deficit, only to allow the Raptors to explode for 39 points in the fourth quarter to slip away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 4-12-2 ATS in their last 18 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points. The Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team above .600 and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
The Cavaliers have some good news as they are expecting to have Donovan Mitchell back in the lineup for this one, while the Knicks are keeping an eye on Immanuel Quickley who is listed as questionable. The Cavaliers are clearly the team in better form at the moment, they should have Mitchell back in the lineup and they have the advantage of extra rest as they haven’t played since Saturday. Give me the Cavaliers to get the win and cover in this spot.
