The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets duke it out at the Ball Arena on Sunday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after having their three-game win streak snapped by the Kings in a 118-113 road loss on Friday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 37 points and seven assists, Isaiah Joe added 21 points off the bench while Josh Giddey tallied 15 points with 10 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Thunder shot 48 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control after pouring in 34 points in the second quarter, but they allowed the Kings to come back in the third quarter and ended up just short as the Kings used a 13-6 run late in the fourth quarter to steal the game late.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been running through teams and they are gunning for a 10th straight victory after blowing past the Pacers in a 134-111 home win on Friday. Aaron Gordon led the team with 28 points and six assists on 11 of 15 shooting, Michael Porter Jr. added 19 points with eight rebounds while Jamal Murray racked up a triple-double of 17 points with 10 rebounds and 14 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot a sizzling 61 percent from the field and 14 of 28 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to take the early lead which only grew in the second half where they exploded for 73 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 41-19-1 ATS in their last 61 road games, 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Thunder are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Thunder are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Denver.
The Thunder are again missing Aleksej Pokusevski and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, while the Nuggets have listed Vlatko Cancar, Bones Hyland and Nikola Jokic all as questionable here. The Thunder could have a major opportunity to steal a win if the Nuggets rest a few players. The Nuggets are clearly the team in better form coming into this meeting, but the Thunder are 41-19-1 ATS in their last 61 road games and they are also 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings in Denver. I’m sure the Nuggets get the win at home, but I think the Thunder can push them right till the end.
