The Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics duke it out at the TD Garden on Thursday night.
The Golden State Warriors have cooled off a bit recently with four losses in their last six games and they will be looking to build some momentum after sneaking past the shorthanded Wizards in a 127-118 road win on Monday. Stephen Curry led the team with 41 points on 12 of 28 shooting, Jordan Poole added 32 points on 12 of 20 shooting while Draymond Green tallied 17 points with 10 assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 49 percent from the field and 18 of 44 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and poured in 69 points in the first half, but that still wasn’t enough to shake off the Wizards until the fourth quarter where they closed the final 3:12 on a 12-4 run to pull away and earn the victory.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 11 of their last 13 games overall and they will be eager to build on their seven-game win streak after blowing past the lowly Hornets in a 130-118 road win on Monday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 51 points, nine rebounds and five assists on 15 of 23 shooting, Derrick White added 19 points with eight assists while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot 49 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 43 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 35 points in the first quarter to take a double-digit lead into halftime before they finished with a flurry of 38 points in the fourth quarter to keep their win streak alive.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. The Celtics are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a win of more than 10 points and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 21-6 in the last 27 meetings overall and the Warriors are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Warriors are a little shorthanded again as James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga are still out, while the Celtics are keeping an eye on Jaylen Brown who is currently listed as questionable for this one. The Warriors have been a little below their best lately, but they’re getting healthy again and they looked good in their win over the Wizards on Monday. The Celtics could be missing their second leading scorer again, but they still have a red-hot Tatum who is fresh off a 51-point performance and they are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a win of more than 10 points. This could be a great opportunity for the Warriors to snag a win while the Celtics are shorthanded, but I’m sure the Celtics have this game circled on their calendar, so I’m backing them to maintain their momentum with a win and cover here.
