The Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks duke it out at the Fiserv Forum on Monday night.
The Indiana Pacers look to have cooled off a bit as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after getting routed by the Grizzlies in a 130-112 loss on Saturday. Chris Duarte led the team with 25 points, Bennedict Mathurin added 16 points while TJ McConnell chipped in with 13 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists off the bench. As a team, the Pacers shot just 36 percent from the field and 11 of 47 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep up with the inspired Grizzlies from the start and were always fighting an uphill battle after leaking 68 points in the first half. It was always going to be tough without the injury Tyrese Haliburton, but just about everyone struggled as Andrew Nembhard scored just seven points on two of nine shooting, Buddy Hield scored just five points on two of eight shooting while Aaron Nesmith scored just six points on two of 13 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last nine games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting routed by the Heat in a 111-95 road loss on Saturday. Bobby Portis led the team with 15 points with seven rebounds and three steals, Pat Connaughton added 14 points while Jrue Holiday tallied 12 points with 10 assists. As a team, the Bucks shot just 40 percent from the field and 19 of 48 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and scored just 20 points in the first quarter to fall behind early, but they kept fighting and stayed within striking distance, before they got blown away in the fourth quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss of more than 10 points and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Bucks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall, the Pacers are 1-7 ATS in the last eight meetings in Milwaukee and the Pacers are 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall. The Pacers will again be without Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner while the Bucks currently have Khris Middleton and Serge Ibaka listed as out. The Pacers have struggled since losing Haliburton to injury and I think that trend continues here as the Bucks bounce back into form with a win and cover in this spot.
Peter’s Pick Milwaukee -10.5
