The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Barclays Center on Sunday night in NBA action.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in pretty good shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight win after routing the Bulls in a 124-110 road win on Friday. Josh Giddey led the team with 25 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two blocks, Jalen Williams added 22 points on 10 of 12 shooting while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tallied 21 points withs ix assists and four steals. As a team, the Thunder shot 51 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they squandered a 14-point halftime lead, but they didn’t panic and made up for it with their defense as they held the Bulls to just 20 points in the fourth quarter to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been on fire as they’ve won 14 of their last 16 games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after getting stopped in their tracks by the Celtics in a 109-98 loss on Thursday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 24 points and six assists, TJ Warren added 20 points on nine of 18 shooting off the bench while Joe Harris chipped in with 18 points on seven of 11 shooting. As a team, the Nets shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Celtics in a tight contest, until the fourth quarter where they went scoreless during a 4:18 stretch to allow the Celtics to pull away.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 40-19 ATS in their last 59 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. The Nets are 14-38-2 ATS in their last 54 home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games playing on two days rest.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the over is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings in Brooklyn.
The Thunder have on a nice run lately as they’ve won five of their last seven games and they would’ve taken so much confidence from their big win over the Bulls on Friday. The Nets have been the hottest team in the league, but they are still missing Kevin Durant and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting routed by the Celtics on Thursday. The Thunder are more than capable of pulling off the upset in this spot, but the Nets have the advantage of an extra days rest, but they are only 14-38-2 ATS in their last 54 home games, so I will side with the Thunder to pull off the upset here.
