The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to the United Center to do battle with the Chicago Bulls on Friday night in NBA action.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last six games and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the 76ers in a 133-114 road win last night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 37 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Josh Giddey tallied 20 points with eight assists while Jalen Williams and Tre Mann each scored 14 points. As a team, the Thunder shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 67 points in the first half to take a 10-point lead into halftime and they just never took their foot off the gas as they scored at least 32 points in every quarter to pull off one of their best wins of the season so far.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their last 13 games overall, but they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat in this one after falling just short to the Wizards in a heartbreaking 100-97 road loss on Wednesday. Zach LaVine led the team with 38 points on 15 of 28 shooting, Nikola Vucevic added 15 points with 10 rebounds and five assists while Coby White chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Bulls shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they held the Wizards to just 21 points in the second quarter to lead by 16 points, but all they didn’t put the Wizards away and it cost them as the Wizards’ Kyle Kuzma drained the game-winning 3-pointer with just 6.0 seconds left on the clock to steal the game from them.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 19-8 ATS in their last 27 road games against a team with a winning home record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Bulls are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings overall and the Thunder are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Thunder have been building nicely and they will be full of confidence after taking down the red-hot 76ers in a big win last night, while the Bulls were playing some of their best basketball of the season before dropping their last two games. It’s always tough playing the second game of a back to back set, but the Thunder are 19-8 ATS in their last 27 road games and I think that trend continues here as the Thunder pull off the minor upset.
