The Washington Wizards play host to the Chicago Bulls at the Capital One Arena on Wednesday night in NBA action.
The Chicago Bulls have been in fine form as they’ve won eight of their last 12 games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their three-game win streak snapped by the Celtics in a 107-99 road loss on Monday. Zach LaVine led the team with 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Nikola Vucevic added 21 points with 13 rebounds on nine of 15 shooting while DeMar DeRozan chipped in with 13 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Bulls shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they did a decent job of hanging with the Celtics, until the third quarter where DeRozan left the game with a hamstring injury leaving him as questionable for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards look to have cooled off from their five-game win streak as they are now hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after getting thrashed by the Pelicans in a 132-112 loss on Monday. Kristaps Porzingis led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Kyle Kuzma added 19 points while Corey Kispert drained five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 34 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 37 points to take an early 10-point lead, but they went cold with just 19 points in the second quarter and just never had a chance in the second half where they trailed by as many as 27 points at one stage.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Wizards are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 13-32-1 ATS in their last 46 games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss.
Head to head, the under is 21-9 in the last 30 meetings overall, the Bulls are 14-6-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings overall and the Bulls are 9-2-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Washington.
The Bulls could be shorthanded once again as DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso are both questionable, while the Wizards have listed Corey Kispert, Daniel Gafford and Kristaps Porzingis as questionable. This is another case of two teams headed in opposite directions, so with the line so short, I have to lean towards the Bulls to get the job done, even if DeRozan isn’t able to suit up here.
