The Detroit Pistons travel to the Wells Fargo Center to take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night in NBA action.
The Detroit Pistons have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the 76ers in a 123-111 loss on Sunday. Killian Hayes led the team with 26 points with six assists on 11 of 17 shooting, Bojan Bogdanovic and Isaiah Stewart each scored 20 points while Alec Burks chipped in with 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 50 percent from the field and eight of 23 from the 3-point line, but they struggled to contain the 76ers to start and trailed by as many as 23 points in this one after leaking 71 points in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in great form as they’ve won 12 of their last 15 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after beating the Pistons in a 123-111 road win on Sunday. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 23 points, James Harden tallied a triple-double of 20 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists while Montrezl Harrell chipped in with 20 points on eight of 11 shooting. As a team, the 76ers shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 37 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start and poured in 71 points in the first half to build a 23-pont lead which allowed them to cruise in the second half despite missing their leading scorer in Joel Embiid.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a double-digit loss at home and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The 76ers are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a win of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the over is 9-2-1 in the last 12 meetings overall, the Pistons are 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings in Philadelphia and the Pistons are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Pistons are severely shorthanded for this one as Bojan Bogdanovic, Jalen Duren, Isaiah Livers and Buddy Boeheim are all out, while the 76ers are keeping an eye on Joel Embiid who is currently listed as questionable for this one. The Pistons will be out for revenge after getting routed on Sunday, but the 76ers are one of the hottest teams in the league right now and they are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 home games. The Pistons are also 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings in Philadelphia, so I’ll stick with the 76ers whether Embiid plays or not.
